News and Updates: Spring 2025
Here are some of the things that have been happening lately at Baldinger Mediation:
Panel on Federal Court Settlements
The Federal Bar Association’s Palm Beach Chapter invited Jim to moderate a panel discussion on mediation and settlement conferences at their April membership luncheon with West Palm Beach Magistrate Judges William Matthewman, Bruce E. Reinhart, and Ryon McCabe, who provided insightful comments and helpful information for lawyers who settle cases in their court.
UF Law School Lecture
Jim taught a class on mediation to 2L and 3L students at the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law in Gainesville this spring. Thanks to Professor Donna Eng for the invitation to lecture to her impressive Pre-Trial Practice class!
CLE on Changes to ADR Rules
Jim participated in two panels at the Palm Beach County Bar Association’s CLE presentation on the new alternative dispute resolution rules enacted by the Florida Supreme Court. Among the topics he covered were mediator conflicts of interest and settlement, adjournments, and impasses.
Qui Tam Whistleblower Cases
As the number of qui tam cases under the False Claims Act increases nationwide and they become a larger part of our mediation practice, Jim participated in the Federal Bar Association’s annual Qui Tam Conference in Washington, DC, and will be presenting on a panel about mediating qui tam cases next week for the Palm Beach County Bar.
